Over the years, I have completed a number of different observations, allowing me the opportunity to speak with different teachers about their philosophies and teaching styles. From what I have taken in from education classes, the observations and the many teachers I have spoken to, I have developed my own personal philosophies on how I can become a successful teacher. I personally believe that in order to be effective in the classroom a teacher should be teaching all the students in the room. Accomplishing this task requires a teacher to be flexible and incorporate a mixture of the different learning styles in their lesson plans. I strongly feel that being empathetic towards my students rather than apathetic could mean the difference between a student being successful and a student being unsuccessful.

I believe it is important that I incorporate cooperative learning in my teaching. Here students are put into small groups to work together. When cooperative learning is used it not only directly focuses on the assignment but it indirectly focuses on communication, helping students to develop leadership skills and giving them opportunities to be creative. Many times when students get to work in groups it makes learning more fun. I want my classroom to be student centered and student directed. I feel that students participation level is higher when they feel in control. I want them to be able to take ownership for their own ideas and the work they complete.

.
I firmly believe that student success depends heavily on a teachers desire to work cooperatively, patiently, and closely with student learning. It is not solely the student's responsibility to educate themselves on the concepts and skills necessary to thrive not just in the classroom, but the world itself. Positive teacher guidance will lead students towards a path where they will gain the expertise and confidence in taking on challenging tasks and expanding their abilities in becoming life-long learners. I want to give my students the power of assurance in believing they can achieve anything they put their mind to. Through my passion for teaching and my love for Science I want to inspire my students to do well and to want to learn. Receiving an all around effort of cooperation and enthusiasm is important for positive learning experiences. My main goal is to make Science appealing, relevant, and all around fun for the students.

I want to create an environment where my students feel safe and want to learn. I want to develop a strong relationship with my students, allowing them to come to me with anything, whether it is about academics, their peers, or a problem at all. I want my students to be able to ask me questions not just in class, but out of class as well. As a teacher, I want to make myself readily accessible. I want to be available to my students as much as possible, and always with a positive, welcoming, and upbeat attitude. I feel like I have started to form a concrete foundation for my educational philosophy that will lead me to be a successful teacher over the years.
